Product description

Yannis Markopoulos' "Anexartita" is a seminal work in the entehno and laïko genres, originally released on April 9, 1975, under the Minos - EMI SA label. This album is a testament to Markopoulos' unique musical vision and his ability to blend traditional Greek elements with innovative sounds. Spanning a concise 52 minutes, "Anexartita" features 15 remastered tracks, each offering a glimpse into the rich tapestry of Greek music.

The album opens with "I Roza I Naziara," setting the tone for a journey through Markopoulos' distinctive soundscapes. Tracks like "Ta Logia Ke Ta Chronia Ta Hamena" and "Sti Diki Mas Plati" showcase his lyrical prowess and melodic sensibilities. "To Perama" and "Bikan Stin Poli I Ohtri" highlight his ability to infuse traditional themes with a modern twist, while "Ohi Den Prepi" and "O Tarzan" add a playful and energetic dimension to the album.

"Toubou Toubou Za" and "Zavarakatranemia" delve into more experimental territories, demonstrating Markopoulos' versatility and willingness to push boundaries. The album continues with "Sourlada Dagiada" and "Kelaidismata," which are both deeply rooted in Greek musical traditions. "I Zoi" and "Pou Pas" offer moments of introspection and reflection, while "Alexandria" and "I Ellada (Lengo)" bring the album to a close with a sense of nostalgia and longing.

"Anxartita" is not just a collection of songs; it's a snapshot of a pivotal moment in Greek music history. Yannis Markopoulos' ability to capture the essence of his culture and translate it into a timeless musical experience makes this album a cherished piece for both longtime fans and new listeners alike.
