Gorgeous, engaging sound on this single-channel pressing. You can sense the space but it's not bothersome since the band is so energetic and cohesive. A perfect match for the initial release.

Being an Ahmad Jamal album, just grab it. As someone who appreciates his music, there aren't many of his records that I don't adore. I'm more into Stereo than Mono, and this release is really good. My copy is VG+ and the vinyl is quiet. There's a clear distinction between the instruments, but the audience noise leans more to the right side rather than being evenly spread.
While it may not reach the exceptional level of its renowned predecessor, the second volume of Jamal's trio's historic Pershing performance is still very enjoyable. Be sure to listen to the outstanding arrangement of "Cherokee.
