This album crept up on me. Where Dogrel was raw and immediate, A Hero’s Death is more restrained, hypnotic — like the band took a deep breath and stared inward. There’s a weight to it. A calm tension. Tracks like “I Don’t Belong” and “Sunny” don’t demand attention — they earn it slowly. Grian sounds like he’s talking to himself half the time, and that’s exactly what makes it stick. The Vinyl Me, Please edition is a beauty. The seafoam green (or turquoise, depending on the light) looks stunning in person. Debossed cover, gold foil numbering — it feels thoughtfully made, not just pressed and shipped.Sound-wise, I was really happy — it’s clean, well-balanced, with enough space in the mix to let those guitars shimmer and the vocals cut through. Quiet pressing too. A fitting version of an album that takes its time — and rewards yours.
I received my copy from Partisan Records, took my static brush to the vinyl upon opening, and have zero pops or defects even in the quieter songs on the 2nd LP. Both records are flat, and sound great! I guess I really lucked out when reading about everyone else's experience! I love getting albums that are mixed as well as A Heroes Death on 45. In my opinion, if you have a hi-fi system that is unforgiving, you should only be looking at this pressing. Color vinyl is fun, but listening to an album like this on a quality pressing is better.
Got a perfect disc, sounds rich, warm and huge stage. 45rpm adds smoothness to this full ernergy disc, just amazing result.
Less than 6 months and in certain section of the tape the music slows down until it stops. This version doesn't deserve your money. The album is amazing but this kind of editions are rubbish
Very dynamic & clean sounding pressing, medium loud. No noticable pops or clicks on my copy. I am very happy with this.
