This vinyl release outshines all other Bon Iver ones I've heard, I was bracing for the worst but was pleasantly surprised. There's some background hum on nearly every song though. But it's not something you'd pick up at lower volumes.
This album holds a special place in my heart, it's one of my all-time favorites. It's got a deep personal meaning for me, as it was the soundtrack to a significant time in my life. I'm absolutely in love with every single track. However, my vinyl copy is a real letdown. The sound quality is so poor, with tons of distortion and clipping, that it's barely enjoyable to listen to. I can't figure out why this is happening, as all my other records sound great. This one is just awful, especially during the chorus vocals, it's so distorted that it completely ruins the experience for me. I'm genuinely upset that I ended up with such a bad copy, so I'll definitely be on the lookout for a better one in the future. This album deserves better than this vinyl treatment, and I really hope the next copy I get is up to par :( And just so you know, I'm not some picky audiophile. I'm pretty lenient when it comes to vinyl quality, so the fact that I'm leaving this review should tell you how bad it really is.
absolutely silent on my end, sounds amazing. that orange vinyl is so pretty and solid.
This is an excellent pressing. It's smooth, silent, and full of life. If you can find it, this is the version you want.
There's a tiny bit of hiss, probably from the color transfer, but it's not something you'd pick up on unless you're really listening for it. Turned out fantastic!
